The new WireView Pro II , announced by Thermal Grizzly at Computex at the end of May, can be pre-ordered from the end of this week in both variants: with sense pins at the top or bottom. This was announced by the manufacturer from Germany on his Discord server. The RRP is 119.90 – plus 50 euros compared to its predecessor.

WireView Pro II: Pro-Pin Monitoring and Logging

In addition to the already known monitoring of the accumulated power consumption of a video card via the PCIe connector, the second generation of the WireView Pro can sound the alarm in case of problems with the 12V-2×6 connector. For this purpose, the WireView Pro Gen II measures the amperage per pin and thus detects an uneven load distribution. An uneven load distribution is still suspected to be the cause behind dirty 12V-2× 6 connections on GeForce RTX 5000.

Another innovation compared to the previous models are connectors for recording data, one of them is designed as USB-C. Thus, the consumption can not only be read on the display, but also documented (logging). In addition, the new generation has a small fan, which should provide additional air circulation at the connection.

    180° version may follow later

For this purpose, the WireView Pro 2 is plugged into the power connector of the video card and then connected to the 12V-2×6 cable of the power supply unit. For the coming year, a 180 ° variant may also be expected, which can then also be used with graphics cards that have been installed in the housing. For now, the new generation starts with two 90 ° versions.

    An alternative from Aqua Computer

However, the WireView Pro II is not alone on the market. With the Ampinel, Aqua Computer is preparing to launch a comparable product on the market in November – for 79.90 euros and thus significantly cheaper.
