AMD Ryzen AI Max 388 APU with Radeon 8060S Price and Feature
AMD is preparing another variant of Ryzen AI Max(+) 300 (“Strix Halo”), which should be particularly suitable for high-performance handheld PCs. According to an entry in the PassMark benchmark database, the Ryzen AI Max 388 will be equipped with 8 Zen-5 processor cores like the Ryzen AI Max 385, but combine them with the uncut Radeon 8060S with 40 CUs.

This is the first time that AMD has combined 8 Zen-5 processor cores with 2,560 FP32 ALUs, which were previously reserved for the Ryzen AI Max + 395 with 16 Zen-5 cores, making the APU particularly interesting for gamers. In addition to handheld PCs, gaming tablets such as the Sixunited AXP-77 are also addressed.

It is not yet known when AMD will introduce the new Zen-5 APU, but the sighting in PassMark gives hope for an early release.
