Minisforum introduces the N5 Pro AI, a new NAS that promises impressive performance thanks to the AMD Ryzen AI 9 HX 370. It also carries a four-digit price tag.
At CES 2025, Minisforum brought some devices with it – including the “N5 Pro AI NAS”, which, according to the company, should be launched on the market “later in the year”. This point in time has now been reached, because the shop page for the Barebone NAS is online and shows a price of 1,089 euros at the time of the article publication.
Strix Halo as a NAS driver Feature
The network memory with dimensions of 199 × 202 × 252 mm relies on an APU of the Strix Halo generation: with the AMD Ryzen AI 9 HX 370, the N5 Pro AI is theoretically also suitable for more demanding tasks.
As a barebone system, prospective buyers are spoiled for choice when it comes to storage. Minisforum itself has options with 48 or 96 GiB of RAM with 64 GB of operating system memory.
Basically, there are five mounting bays available for additional mass storage, which must be in the classic 3.5-inch format for magnetic hard drives or 2.5-inch format for SSDs.
This is joined by the possibility of a single M.2 SSD and two other U.2 SSDs. Minisforum estimates the maximum possible overall configuration at 144 terabytes of internal capacity.

Thanks to the connections in the N5 Pro AI, it doesn’t have to stay with this amount. Minisforum provides the NAS with two ports each with USB4 (DP 2.0 Alt), USB 3.2 Gen 2 as well as an HDMI 2.1 and an Oculink port. Two ports with either 10 or 5 Gbit/s are available for the Internet connection. Among the compatible operating systems, the manufacturer calls classic Windows or Linux.
