Microsoft is once again experiencing problems with the August update for Windows 11 and is now providing an emergency patch for error message 0x80240069.
Microsoft once again has problems with updates for Windows 11 and now confirmed that KB5063878 – the August update – can cause a critical error (0x80240069). It was also unfortunate in this case that due to promised performance improvements, some users had started the update manually more than usual; only to then realize that they have to bother with critical errors.
How to Fix Window 11 0x80240069 Error
Microsoft once again has to put up with the question of how intensively the cumulative monthly patches are tested, because Windows Latest had rolled out the update via Enterprise Deployment Tools in its own computer park and came across the error quite quickly. This should have been noticeable in the conclusion even in Redmond. Especially since the same error caused annoyance once before in April, but the root of the problem has now been discovered. Details about this will be announced shortly.
In the end, the only thing that matters is that the problem is resolved quickly and Microsoft seems to be on the track of the matter – the support document has already been created. “Home users are unlikely to have this problem because WSUS is designed for use in enterprise environments,” Microsoft explained. Those affected will see the error message 0x80240069. An emergency patch has been delivered by Microsoft and will be applied automatically via Windows Update. If you prefer to work manually, you can find the emergency patch as “KB5063878 250814_00551 Known Issue Rollback” from the update catalog
